Regular Season Round 2: Istanbul BBSK - Demir IBB 82-70

Very important is a road loss of Demir IBB (1-1) against Istanbul BBSK (1-1) on Saturday night. Visiting Demir IBB was defeated by Istanbul BBSK in Istanbul 82-70. The game was mostly controlled by Istanbul BBSK. Demir IBB managed to win fourth quarter 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Istanbul BBSK made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Demir IBB turnovers. Slovenian Jaka Klobucar (198-87) notched 15 points and 8 assists to lead the effort and American center Eric Buckner (208-90, college: Georgia St., agency: David Lee Services) supported him with 18 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Even 11 points and 8 rebounds by Romanian Vlad Moldoveanu (206-88, college: American) did not help to save the game for Demir IBB. Point guard Merthan Mutlu (190-94) added 12 points for the guests. Five Istanbul BBSK and four Demir IBB players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Istanbul BBSK will meet Trabzonspor (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Demir IBB will play against Banvit (#14) and hope to win that game.
