Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Homburger TG (3-1) beat on the road bottom-ranked Don Bosco Bamberg (0-4) 80-68 on Saturday. The game without a history. Homburger TG led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Homburger TG forced 19 Don Bosco Bamberg turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Finnish Camilla Groenberg (179-94) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 7 rebounds and Polish point guard Nikola Kacperska (169-93, college: Ft.Hays State) who added 18 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Homburger TG's coach Jay Brown used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the losing side American guard Jamiyah Bethune (173, college: Monmouth) responded with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Julia Forner (176-1) scored 16 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Homburger TG have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in South, which they share with Freiburg and Weiterstadt. Loser Don Bosco Bamberg still closes the standings with four games lost. Homburger TG will face Krofdorf/Gleib. (#7) in Giessen in the next round where they are favorite. Don Bosco Bamberg will play on the road against Ladybaskets Wuerzburg (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
