Regular Season Round 5: Kamp-Lintfort - Bonn II 78-52

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Kamp-Lintfort and 10th ranked Bonn II had identical 1-5 record. This time Kamp-Lintfort used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Bonn 78-52 on Saturday night. Kamp-Lintfort outrebounded Bonn II 49-30 including a 39-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Bonn II's players. Center Lennart Boner (206) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 23 rebounds for the winners and forward Till Achtermeier (197-88) chipped in 10 points and 5 assists. Point guard David Falkenstein (185-97) responded with 10 points and 6 rebounds and American power forward KJ Sherrill (203-91, college: Augusta) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kamp-Lintfort (2-5) moved-up to ninth place in West. Loser Bonn II dropped to the eleventh position with six games lost. Kamp-Lintfort will face Hagen-Haspe (#12) on the road in the next round. Bonn II will play against Dorsten and hope to win that game.
