Regular Season Round 5: TSV Troester - Treuchtlingen 90-79

There was a change at the Regionalliga leadership position after last games. The most important game of round 5 took place in Breitenguessbach between two undefeated teams of South-East where TSV Troester beat Treuchtlingen (3-1) 90-79 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Treuchtlingen. It was a key game for the top position in South-East. TSV Troester dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Treuchtlingen's 38. TSV Troester had a 33-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. Center Erik Land (205-90) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for the winners and point guard Timo Dippold (182-97) chipped in 10 points and 4 assists. Five TSV Troester players scored in double figures. Forward Stefan Schmoll (196-89) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and forward Simon Geiselsoeder (189-91) scored 24 points. TSV Troester have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of South-East leader, which they share with Vilsbiburg. Treuchtlingen at the other side dropped to the fifth place with one game lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. They were replaced at the leadership position by TSV Troester. Treuchtlingen will play next round against strong Muenchen OSB trying to make it back to the top of the standings. TSV Troester will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Vilsbiburg on the road.
