Regular Season Round 5: Ansbach - Vilsbiburg 76-95

No shocking result in a game when leader Vilsbiburg (4-0) outleveled on the road 7th ranked Ansbach (1-3) 95-76 on Saturday. Vilsbiburg forced 23 Ansbach turnovers. American swingman Kendall Timmons (195-90, college: Tulane) stepped up and scored 16 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals for the winners and guard Eduard Hoffmann (185-97) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Paul Nzeocha (192) responded with 8 points and 14 rebounds and naturalized Croatian point guard Goran Petrovic (184-77) scored 13 points. Five Vilsbiburg and four Ansbach players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Vilsbiburg have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of South-East leader, which they share with TSV Troester. Loser Ansbach dropped to the eighth place with three games lost. Vilsbiburg will face league's leader TSV Troester in Breitenguessbach in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ansbach will play on the road against GGZ Baskets (#13) in Zwickau and hope to win that game.
