Regular Season Round 5: Muenster - Duesseldorf 85-79

No shocking result in a game when leader Muenster (6-0) won against at home 7th ranked Duesseldorf (3-3) 85-79 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Muenster looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Forward Andrej Koenig (195-87) stepped up and scored 22 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners and forward Jan Koenig (201-93) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals. Four Muenster players scored in double figures. Lithuanian forward Dainius Zvinklys (203-90) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and Lithuanian swingman Paulius Kleiza (194-88) scored 28 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Muenster have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They keep a position of West leader, which they share with Hertener Loewen and Grevenbroich. Loser Duesseldorf dropped to the sixth place with three games lost. Muenster will face league's second-placed Hertener Loewen on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Duesseldorf will play against Hagen BG (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
