The game in Samokov supposed to be also quite interesting. Cherno More (0-2) played at the court of Rilski (1-1). Rilski smashed Cherno More 120-73 on Saturday. Rilski dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Cherno More's 36. They outrebounded Cherno More 43-23 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Rilski looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American point guard Derek Wright (179-86, college: Austin Peay St.) notched 15 points, 6 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and the other American import forward Travis Taylor (203-90, college: Xavier) supported him with 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Five Rilski players scored in double figures. Even 14 points and 5 rebounds by naturalized Portuguese swingman Venelin Hristov (198-95) did not help to save the game for Cherno More. Swingman Veselin Georgiev (192-86) added 13 points for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rilski will meet Academik Plovdiv on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Cherno More will play against Balkan (#2) and hope to win that game.
