The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Levski 2014 (1-1) in Sofia on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Academik Plovdiv (2-0) 82-70. Academik Plovdiv shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American point guard Isiah Umipig (183-92, college: Seattle) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 assists. The other American import Manuel Johnson (202-83, college: Tex.A&M-Comm.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Serbian center Nikola Maravic (212-89, agency: BeoBasket) replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 17 rebounds and point guard Deyan Karamfilov (180-94) added 12 points and 8 assists in the effort for Levski 2014. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Academik Plovdiv are looking forward to face Rilski (#7) in Samokov in the next round where they are favorite. Levski 2014 will play on the road against Spartak Pleven and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
