Regular Season Round 3: CAB Madeira - Olivais 75-40

Very predictable result when CAB Madeira (2-1) rolled over Olivais (0-3) in Funchal 75-40 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by CAB Madeira. Olivais was better in third quarter 10-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. CAB Madeira forced 33 Olivais turnovers and outrebounded them 40-23 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for international power forward Rosinha Rosario (182-89, college: Gulf Coast CC) who led her team to a victory with 17 points and 7 rebounds. International point guard Ines Viana (166-94) contributed with 12 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Four CAB Madeira players scored in double figures. Mozambican Vania Sengo (-96) answered with 13 points and 7 rebounds and Raquel Alves added 4 points and 5 assists in the effort for Olivais. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. CAB Madeira will face Alges (#7) at home in the next round. Olivais will play against Lombos Quinta and hope to get finally their first victory.
