TuSLi Berlin's home win over higher ranked SG BBZ Opladen 70-54 was very exciting. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 37-20 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. TuSLi Berlin dominated on the defensive end, holding SG BBZ Opladen to just 7 points in third quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to SG BBZ Opladen's 30. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Nyara Sabally (-0) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) and international swingman Ireti Amojo (176-90, college: Washington St.) who added 14 points during the contest. At the losing side center Mareike Nettersheim (186-83) responded with 13 points and 9 rebounds and forward Leonie Schuetter (177-98) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Four SG BBZ Opladen players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. TuSLi Berlin (1-0) left bottom position moving up to sixth place in North. Loser SG BBZ Opladen dropped to the second position with two games lost. TuSLi Berlin will face league's second-placed Baskets Grunberg in Gruenberg in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. SG BBZ Opladen will play on the road against B.Loewen and hope to win that game.
