Undefeated Telekom Baskets (3-1) recorded its first loss on the court of third ranked ALBA Berlin. Visitors were rolled over by ALBA Berlin 90-69. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Telekom Baskets. They outrebounded Telekom Baskets 35-24 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. ALBA Berlin players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Telekom Baskets' players. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Luke Sikma (203-89, college: Portland) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Center Dennis Clifford (216-92, college: Boston Coll.) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four ALBA Berlin players scored in double figures. ALBA Berlin's coach Garcia Aito Reneses felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Ron Curry (191-93, college: JMU, agency: 3Eye) answered with 24 points and power forward Julian Gamble (208-89, college: Miami, FL) added 9 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks in the effort for Telekom Baskets. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for ALBA Berlin. They moved-up to second place. Telekom Baskets at the other side dropped to the sixth position with one game lost. They share it with Ludwigsburg and Brose Bask.. ALBA Berlin will play against Oettinger Rockets Gotha (#14) at home in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Telekom Baskets will play against Mitteldeutscher BC (#12) and hope to get back on the winning track.
