Regular Season Round 2: Darussafaka - Galatasaray 69-67

Date: October 15, 2017
The most surprising game was a loss of Galatasaray (1-1) in Istanbul on Sunday night. Visitors were edged by Darussafaka (1-1) 69-67. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 26-19. But Galatasaray won second period 17-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 25 personal fouls committed by Galatasaray helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American power forward JaJuan Johnson (208-89, college: Purdue) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 7 rebounds. The other American import guard Scottie Wilbekin (188-93, college: Florida) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Darussafaka's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American swingman Scotty Hopson (200-89, college: Tennessee) replied with 11 points and 9 rebounds and the former international swingman Emir Preldzic (206-87, agency: BeoBasket) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Galatasaray. Four Galatasaray players scored in double figures. Darussafaka is looking forward to face Usak Sportlif (#16) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Galatasaray will play against Pinar Karsiyaka (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
