Very expected game when 9th ranked Chemnitz (1-3) lost on the road to third ranked Hamburg (3-1) 80-72 on Sunday. Hamburg made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Chemnitz was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for American forward Jonathon Williams (198-90, college: Wagner) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 5 assists. Croatian point guard Hrvoje Kovacevic (190-86) contributed with 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Polish-American guard Andy Mazurczak (188-93, college: Wisc.-Parkside, agency: Duran International) replied with 19 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Jonas Richter (205-97) added 12 points in the effort for Chemnitz. Five Hamburg and four Chemnitz players scored in double figures. Hamburg moved-up to second place, which they share with 4 other teams. Chemnitz lost third consecutive game.
