Regular Season Round 5: Bipa Basket - Mykolaiv 78-66

The game in Odessa was also worth to mention about. 4th placed Mykolaiv (2-2) played at the court of fifth ranked Bipa Basket (3-2). Bipa Basket defeated Mykolaiv 78-66. It looked good early as Mykolaiv took a 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Bipa Basket took control winning two of next three quarters and eventually winning the game that evening by 12 points. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Mykolaiv to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Bipa Basket players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American swingman Tanksley Efianayi (198-94, college: Cent.Florida) nailed 22 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and the former international point guard Klym Artamonov (185-93) accounted for 8 points and 14 assists. Swingman Denis Noskov (202-90) came up with 12 points and 6 rebounds and center Konstantin Anikenko (218-92) added 8 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Mykolaiv in the defeat. Four Mykolaiv players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bipa Basket moved-up to fourth place. Mykolaiv at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Bipa Basket will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Mykolaiv will play at home against Politekhnik (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
