Regular Season Round 4: Keltern II - Wuerzburg 60-47

There was a surprise result when eighth ranked Keltern II (2-2) defeated at home one of their biggest challengers Ladybaskets Wuerzburg (2-1) 60-47 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 60-47. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Jasmine Smith (183, college: San Jose St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points, 15 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and Leonie Elbert (169-96) who added 17 points during the contest. At the losing side Canadian forward Jenna Bugiardini (180) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and guard Alexandra Daub (170-96) scored 6 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Keltern II moved-up to sixth place in South, which they share with Krofdorf/Gleib. Loser Ladybaskets Wuerzburg dropped to the fifth position with one game lost. Keltern II will face Speyer / Schifferstadt (#10) in Dudenhofen in the next round. Ladybaskets Wuerzburg will play at home against Don Bosco Bamberg (#11) and hope to win that game.
