Regular Season Round 4: Crailsheim - Trier 101-82

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Crailsheim Merlins (3-1) crushed at home 13th ranked Gladiators (1-3) 101-82 on Sunday. Crailsheim Merlins dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Gladiators' 26. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a very good performance for American guard Chase Griffin (190-83, college: Pepperdine) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Naturalized Chilean Sebastian Herrera (193-97) contributed with 21 points and 4 steals (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five Crailsheim Merlins players scored in double figures. Power forward Johannes Joos (206-95) replied with 9 points and 12 rebounds and Jamaican-Canadian forward Jermaine Bucknor (201-83, college: Richmond) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Gladiators. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Crailsheim Merlins moved-up to second place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Gladiators dropped to the eleventh position with three games lost. Crailsheim Merlins will face OrangeAcademy (#12) in Ulm in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gladiators will play at home against Nuernberg and hope to win that game.
