Regular Season Round 4: Phoenix Hagen - Baunach 72-66

Date: October 15, 2017
Bottom-ranked Baunach is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their fourth consecutive match to eighth ranked Phoenix Hagen (3-1) 72-66 on Sunday evening. Phoenix Hagen outrebounded Baunach 41-30 including 28 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The winners were led by American center Alex Herrera (206-92, college: Fort Lewis, agency: Two Points) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import guard James Reid (190-94, college: Boise St.) supported him with 17 points and 5 assists. Even 17 points and 5 assists by American guard Chris Fowler (185-93, college: Cent.Michigan) did not help to save the game for Baunach. Naturalized Spanish Gerard Gomila (196-95) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Phoenix Hagen moved-up to second place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Baunach still closes the standings with four games lost. Phoenix Hagen will meet at home Ehingen/Urspringschule (#14) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Baunach will play against Koeln Rh.Stars and hopes to get finally their first victory.
