Regular Season Round 4: Dresden - Elchingen 72-75

A very interesting game took place in Dresden. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 7th ranked Titans (1-3) to fifth ranked Elchingen (3-1) 75-72 on Sunday evening. Elchingen outrebounded Titans 37-23 including a 18-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by American guard Hayden Lescault (196-92, college: Point Loma) who scored that evening 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and Bosnian-Slovenian power forward Edin Alispahic (208-88) supported him with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Elchingen's coach Dario Jerkic used entire bench in such tough game. Even 22 points by American point guard Steven Bennett (170-88, college: Chaminade) did not help to save the game for Titans. Point guard Janek Schmidkunz (183-90, college: Amer.Internat.) added 11 points and 6 assists for lost side. Four Titans players scored in double figures. Elchingen moved-up to fourth place in South. Titans at the other side dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. Elchingen's next round opponent will be league's leader Dragons Rhoendorf at home and it may be the game of the week. Titans will play against Bayer Giants (#5) in Leverkusen and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the ProA just one year after relegation.
