Timisoara can celebrate their first win this season after two consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat ICIM Arad (0-4) 73-63. They outrebounded ICIM Arad 39-26 including 30 on the defensive glass. Timisoara players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. The winners were led by American center Leeza Burdgess (194-90, college: La Salle) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import guard Dlesha Lloyd (179-86, college: Clemson) supported her with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Timisoara's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 18 points and 5 rebounds by American swingman Brandi Wingate (188-91, college: Louisiana Tech) did not help to save the game for ICIM Arad. The former international power forward Ildiko Nagy (187-84) added 11 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Four ICIM Arad players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Timisoara maintains eighth position with 1-2 record. It was ICIM Arad's fourth loss in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. Timisoara's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Phoenix Galati (#10) on the road. ICIM Arad will play against the league's leader Satu Mare having rather not much hope for a victory.
