Regular Season Round 3: Craiova - Timba Timis. 103-90

Rather predictable result when Craiova (2-1) defeated at home Timba Timosoara (0-2) 103-90. The game was mostly controlled by Craiova. Timba Timosoara was better in second period 29-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Craiova forced 27 Timba Timosoara turnovers. Strangely Timba Timosoara outrebounded Craiova 39-23 including a 27-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was a good game for Montenegrin point guard Goran Martinic (187-87) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 11 assists. Croatian swingman Ivan Siriscevic (198-87, agency: PEPI SPORT) contributed with 26 points for the winners. French-Ivorian forward Tiegbe Bamba (204-91, college: Portland St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and American center John Florveus (211-90, college: Georgia, agency: Slash Sports) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Timba Timosoara. Four Craiova and five Timba Timosoara players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Craiova's next round opponent will be Pitesti (#3) on the road, which may be the game of the day. Timba Timosoara will play against Phoenix Galati (#6) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
