Regular Season Round 2: Montana - Slavia 86-53

Montana 2003 smashed Slavia at home 86-53. The game without a history. Montana 2003 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Slavia's 32 and made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Montana 2003 forced 21 Slavia turnovers and outrebounded them 63-36 including a 24-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The former international power forward Dimana Makarieva-Georgieva (188-88) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points and 9 rebounds. International point guard Viktoria Stoycheva (165-92) contributed with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Four Montana 2003 players scored in double figures. Antonia Filipova (180-98) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and the former international guard Stefka Nikolova (173-90) added 11 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Slavia. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Slavia will play next round against Septemvri 97 trying to get back on the winning streak. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will travel locally in Sofia to the arena of Septemvri 97. Montana 2003 will try to continue on its current victory against Levski in Sofia.
