Regular Season Round 5: Bayer Giants - Dresden 72-80

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Leverkusen where eighth ranked Titans (2-3) won against 7th ranked Bayer Giants (2-3) 80-72 on Sunday. Titans made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was point guard Janek Schmidkunz (183-90, college: Amer.Internat.) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Swingman Sebastian Heck (200-95, agency: Blacktop Management) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. Five Titans players scored in double figures. Bayer Giants' coach Achim Kuczmann gave the chance to play for ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Titans moved-up to seventh place in South, which they share with defeated Bayer Giants. Titans will face Karlsruhe SC (#12) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
