There was an upset when higher ranked Osnabruecker (2-3) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel (2-2) 84-71 on Sunday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel's pressure prevailed and they won that period 24-17 extending their advantage to 13 points. Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel outrebounded Osnabruecker 47-28 including a 20-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Osnabruecker was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Canadian guard Nakeshia Hyde (180-90, college: Texas Tech) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds. American forward Brianna Rollerson (183-94, college: Creighton) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points and 18 rebounds. American guard NDea Bryant (183-94, college: N.Carolina) produced a double-double by scoring 30 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and forward Esther Borchers (173-97) added 18 points respectively for the guests. Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel moved-up to sixth place in North. Loser Osnabruecker dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel will face Braunschweig (#10) on the road in the next round. Osnabruecker will play against TuSLi Berlin and hope to win that game.
