Regular Season Round 6: Wasserburg II - Bad Homburg 66-62

Second defeat of league's leader Homburger TG (4-2) against eighth ranked Wasserburg II (2-2) 66-62 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Homburger TG. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Homburger TG won fourth quarter 16-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for center Anna Heise (188-93, college: Maine) who led her team to a victory with 26 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. American forward Elizabeth Wood (178-93, college: Maine) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. American forward Stephanie Furr (179, college: Wisc.-Parkside) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and naturalized Bulgarian guard Gergana Georgieva (181-87) added 18 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Homburger TG. Wasserburg II moved-up to seventh place in South. Homburger TG at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Freiburg. Homburger TG will play next round against Rhein Main Baskets trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Wasserburg II will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Ladybaskets Wuerzburg on the road.
