Regular Season Round 7: Schwabing - Herzogenaurach 84-59

Date: October 28, 2017
Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Schwabing and 12th ranked Herzogenaurach had identical 1-4 record. This time Schwabing used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Herzogenaurach 84-59 on Saturday night. Schwabing forced 24 Herzogenaurach turnovers. Herzogenaurach was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American forward Nathan Gibbs (204-89, college: Westmont) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 6 rebounds. William Bessoir (203-99) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Guard Daniel Krause (194-88) answered with 18 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and Marvin Omuvwie (197-97) added 11 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Herzogenaurach. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Schwabing (2-4) moved-up to eighth place in South-East, which they share with 3 other teams. Herzogenaurach lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with five games lost. Schwabing will face higher ranked Topstar (#5) in Diedorf in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Herzogenaurach will play at home against Ansbach (#8) and hope to win that game.
