Don Bosco Bamberg's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after five consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Speyer / Schifferstadt (0-5) 57-44 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Don Bosco Bamberg. Speyer / Schifferstadt was better in third quarter 18-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Don Bosco Bamberg dominated on the defensive end, holding Speyer / Schifferstadt to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They held Speyer / Schifferstadt to an opponent 21.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 28.6 percent accuracy of the winners. Point guard Annika Netter (172) replied with 11 points and 9 rebounds and Canadian forward Kathryn Verboom (179-86) added 9 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Speyer / Schifferstadt. Don Bosco Bamberg (1-5) left bottom position moving up to tenth place in South. It was Speyer / Schifferstadt's fifth loss in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. Don Bosco Bamberg will face higher ranked Keltern II (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Speyer / Schifferstadt will play against Krofdorf/Gleib. (#8) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
