Regular Season Round 6: Rist Wedel - Bernau 79-71

Very important is a road loss of second ranked SSV Lok Bernau (4-2) against fifth ranked SC Rist Wedel (4-2) on Saturday night. Visiting SSV Lok Bernau was defeated by SC Rist Wedel in a tough game in Wedel 71-79. SC Rist Wedel forced 19 SSV Lok Bernau turnovers and outrebounded them 43-31 including 29 on the defensive glass. Lithuanian center Aurimas Adomaitis (205-87, college: LIU Brooklyn) notched a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and Serbian guard Nino Celebic (191-91) supported him with 21 points and 6 rebounds. Even 14 points by point guard Jonas Mattisseck (194) did not help to save the game for SSV Lok Bernau. American forward Dexter Werner (198-94, college: N.Dakota St.) added 9 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. SC Rist Wedel moved-up to third place in North, which they share with Bernau. SC Rist Wedel will meet league's leader Schalke on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. SSV Lok Bernau will play against Rostock and hope to secure a win.
