Regular Season Round 7: Duesseldorf - Hertener Loewen 87-78

Undefeated Hertener Loewen (7-1) recorded its first loss on the court of seventh ranked Duesseldorf. Visitors were defeated by Duesseldorf 87-78. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Hertener Loewen. It was a great evening for Lithuanian swingman Paulius Kleiza (194-88) who led his team to a victory scoring 36 points (!!!) and 4 assists. American point guard Deshaun Cooper (173-91, college: NW Missouri St.) helped adding 19 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side American-Spanish guard Marco Porcher-Jimenez (193-92, college: FIU) responded with 23 points and 6 rebounds and British guard Jordan Whelan (193-94, college: MidAmerica Naz.) scored 18 points. Duesseldorf (5-3) moved-up to fifth place in West, which they share with Recklinghausen and Herford. Hertener Loewen at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with Muenster and Grevenbroich. Duesseldorf will play against higher ranked Grevenbroich (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hertener Loewen will play against Hagen BG and hopes to get back on the winning track.
