Regular Season Round 4: Botas - Cukurova 71-70

A very close game took place in Adana (derby !!!) between Botas and Cukurova. Seventh ranked Botas (2-2) got a very close home victory over 8th ranked Cukurova (1-3). Botas managed to escape with a 1-point win 71-70 on Saturday evening. Botas made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Kiah Stokes (190-93, college: Connecticut) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 18 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and the other American import guard Chelsea Gray (180-92, college: Duke) who added 21 points, 6 assists and 4 steals during the contest. At the losing side Ukrainian swingman Alina Iagupova (186-92, agency: LBM Management) responded with 25 points and 7 rebounds (made all of her eight free throws) and American forward Erlana Larkins (185-86, college: N.Carolina) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. Botas moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Mersin BSB and Canik Belediye. Cukurova lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the tenth position with three games lost. They share it with Besiktas. Botas will meet Canik Belediye (#7) in the next round. Cukurova's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Mersin to the arena Adana ASKI.
