Regular Season Round 5: Chaika - Tavriyska Zirka 73-67

Bottom-ranked Tavriyska Zirka (0-6) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their sixth consecutive match to sixth ranked Chaika (3-4) 73-67. It looked good early as Tavriyska Zirka took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Chaika had a 22-18 second period charge getting the lead and Tavriyska Zirka was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 67-73. Forward Angelica Lyashko (174-0) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international forward Olexandra Radulovich (186-86) contributed with 6 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Chaika's coach Katerina Klivenok allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Power forward Marharyta Hliebova (187-96) answered with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 blocks and swingman Lolita Sysoyeva (172-95) added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Tavriyska Zirka. Chaika moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Dynamo-NPU. Tavriyska Zirka lost their sixth game in a row. They still close the standings with six games lost. Chaika's next round opponent will be HAI (#6) in Kharkiv. Tavriyska Zirka will play at home against the league's second-placed Interkhim and hopes to get finally their first victory.
