Regular Season Round 6: BG 89 Avides - Neuss 63-70

Date: October 29, 2017
Rather expected game when 6th ranked Rotenburg/Scheessel (2-2) lost at home to third ranked TG Neuss (4-2) 70-63 on Sunday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. It was a good game for American center Julia Duggan (185, college: Rider) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds. The other American import guard Briana Williams (170-92, college: Mercer) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four TG Neuss players scored in double figures. TG Neuss' coach Janina Pils used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American swingman Shaniqua Nilles (183-93, college: Gonzaga) replied with 22 points and forward Hannah Pakulat (181-94) added 10 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Rotenburg/Scheessel. TG Neuss moved-up to second place in North. Loser Rotenburg/Scheessel dropped to the seventh position with two games lost. TG Neuss will face league's leader Osnabrueck SC at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Rotenburg/Scheessel will play against Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel (#4) and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the DBBL just one year after relegation.
