Very important is a road loss of third ranked Friendsfactory Germering (3-2) against fourth ranked Weiterstadt (4-1) on Sunday night. Visiting Friendsfactory Germering was defeated by Weiterstadt in Weiterstadt 71-59. It was a key game for the second position in South. The game was mostly controlled by Weiterstadt. Friendsfactory Germering was better in fourth quarter 24-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Friendsfactory Germering 50-29 including a 20-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Weiterstadt players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Friendsfactory Germering's players. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was power forward Aline Stiller (184-94) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Canadian power forward Kaylee Kilpatrick (193-93, college: New Hampshire) chipped in 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks. Weiterstadt's coach Conrad Jackson allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Emily Bessoir (192-1) who recorded 9 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Johanna Hackel (170) added 16 points respectively. Weiterstadt have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in South, which they share with Wuerzburg. Friendsfactory Germering at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Weiterstadt's next round opponent will be league's leader Eisvogel Freiburg on the road and it will be for sure the game of the week.
