Regular Season Round 6: Krofdorf/Gleib. - Wuerzburg 49-61

Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Ladybaskets Wuerzburg (4-1) defeated 8th ranked Krofdorf/Gleib. (2-4) in Giessen 61-49 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Ladybaskets Wuerzburg. Krofdorf/Gleib. was better in second period 11-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for forward Rebekka Jaeger (178) who led her team to a victory with 12 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Jessika Schiffer (175-0) contributed with 10 points and 4 steals for the winners. Ladybaskets Wuerzburg's coach Janet Fowler-Michel used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Chelsea Small (184, college: Indiana St.) replied with 19 points and 7 rebounds and her fellow American import guard Erin Bratcher (176-92, college: Charleston So.) added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Krofdorf/Gleib.Ladybaskets Wuerzburg moved-up to second place in South, which they share with Weiterstadt. Krofdorf/Gleib. lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with four games lost. Ladybaskets Wuerzburg will face Wasserburg II (#7) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Krofdorf/Gleib. will play against Speyer / Schifferstadt in Dudenhofen and hope to win that game.
