Regular Season Round 7: Kaiserslautern - Eisbaeren 89-56

Date: October 31, 2017
Very predictable result when tenth ranked Kaiserslautern (4-3) rolled over at home bottom-ranked BG Karlsruhe (0-6) 89-56 on Tuesday. Kaiserslautern shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 68.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by BG Karlsruhe's players. It was a very good performance for Hungarian guard Gergely Hosszu (190-86) who helped to win the game recording 23 points. American point guard Japhet McNeil (183-85, college: Bridgeport) contributed with 8 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners. McNeil is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Kaiserslautern players scored in double figures. Naturalized Israeli forward Uri Garmizo (194-94) answered with 9 points and 13 rebounds and American guard Josh Mayberry (190-95, college: Dominican, IL) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for BG Karlsruhe. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kaiserslautern moved-up to sixth place in South-West, which they share with Stuttgart and Koblenz. BG Karlsruhe lost their sixth game in a row. They still close the standings with six games lost. Kaiserslautern will face Limburg (#14) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. BG Karlsruhe will play against Kronberg and hopes to get finally their first victory.
