Regular Season Round 7: Schalke - Rist Wedel 77-67

An interesting game for Schalke (7-0) which hosted in Schalke 3rd placed SC Rist Wedel (4-3). Leader Schalke managed to get a 10-point victory 77-67. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Courtney Belger (187-89, college: Quincy) who led the winners and scored 19 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Niclas Sperber (201-96) accounted for 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Four Schalke players scored in double figures. Serbian guard Nino Celebic (191-91) came up with 19 points and 4 assists and Lithuanian center Aurimas Adomaitis (205-87, college: LIU Brooklyn) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for SC Rist Wedel in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Schalke have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place in North with 7-0 record. Loser SC Rist Wedel dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with ETB Wohnbau. Schalke will meet Rostock (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. SC Rist Wedel will play against ETB Wohnbau and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
