Regular Season Round 7: Schwelm - Iserlohn 82-84

Date: October 31, 2017
The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of SG Schwelmer Baskets (6-1) at the home court on Tuesday night. Hosts were edged by fourth ranked Iserlohn (5-2) 84-82. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of SG Schwelmer Baskets. Iserlohn made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by SG Schwelmer Baskets helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Donte Nicholas (196-87, college: Fresno Pacific) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Julian Scott (203-90, college: Adams St.) contributed with 10 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American guard Chris Hortman (190-88, college: Wisc.-Stout) answered with 19 points and 5 rebounds and guard Marley Jean-Louis (188-94) added 15 points and 4 assists in the effort for SG Schwelmer Baskets. Five Iserlohn and four SG Schwelmer Baskets players scored in double figures. SG Schwelmer Baskets' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Iserlohn maintains fourth place in South with 5-2 record. Newly promoted SG Schwelmer Baskets dropped to the second position with one game lost. They share it with Elchingen. Iserlohn are looking forward to face Karlsruhe SC (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. SG Schwelmer Baskets will play against Dragons Rhoendorf (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
