Very important is a road loss of second ranked Dragons Rhoendorf (6-2) against eighth ranked Giessen 46ers II (4-3) on Tuesday night. Visiting Dragons Rhoendorf was crushed by Giessen 46ers II in Giessen 90-67. Giessen 46ers II made 17-of-20 charity shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 24 Dragons Rhoendorf turnovers and outrebounded them 45-33 including 30 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American guard Jeril Taylor (193-94, college: S.Indiana) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds. Point guard Bjarne Kraushaar (191-99) helped adding 18 points and 7 assists. At the losing side point guard Viktor Frankl-Maus (186-93) responded with 22 points, 7 assists and 6 steals and Canadian forward Kevin Thomas (203-92, college: Troy) scored 8 points and 7 rebounds. Four Dragons Rhoendorf players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Giessen 46ers II moved-up to fifth place in South, which they share with Bayer Giants and Fraport SKY II. Dragons Rhoendorf at the other side dropped to the third position with two games lost. Giessen 46ers II will play against Coburg (#8) on the road in the next round. Dragons Rhoendorf will play against the league's second-placed SG Schwelmer Baskets (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
