Regular Season Round 7: Chemnitz - Hannover 74-68

Date: October 31, 2017
An interesting game was also surprising road defeat of 4th ranked Hannover in a game versus ChemCats Chemnitz (#8) 74-68. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Hannover. The hosts trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 26-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was an exceptional evening for French guard Margot Vidal-Geneve (165-95) who led the winners and scored 17 points and 4 steals. Swedish forward Abigail Asoro (183-93, college: Iowa Western CC) accounted for 5 points and 17 rebounds for the winning side. American Melissa Jeltema (175-88, college: Oakland) came up with 21 points and 7 rebounds and forward Stefanie Grigoleit (186-89) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Hannover in the defeat. Hannover's coach Rodger Battersby rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. ChemCats Chemnitz maintains eighth place with 3-4 record. Loser Hannover keeps the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. ChemCats Chemnitz will meet SV Halle Lions (#9) on the road in the next round. Hannover will play against the league's second-placed TSV 1880 Wasserburg (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
