Regular Season Round 7: Oettinger R. - Braunschweig 87-92

Date: November 2, 2017
Very expected game when 16th ranked Oettinger Rockets Gotha (1-6) was defeated at home by twelfth ranked Braunschweig (3-4) 92-87 on Thursday. Braunschweig had a 21-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Braunschweig especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. It was a great evening for American power forward Scott Eatherton (203-91, college: Northeastern, agency: BeoBasket) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import guard DeAndre Lansdowne (187-89, college: Fort Lewis) helped adding 14 points and 6 assists. At the losing side Serbian guard Nemanja Jaramaz (200-91, agency: BeoBasket) responded with 20 points and Johannes Richter (205-93) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Oettinger Rockets Gotha's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Braunschweig moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Giessen 46ers and MBC. Oettinger Rockets Gotha lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the sixteenth position with six games lost. Braunschweig will face higher ranked Brose Baskets (#9) in Bamberg in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Oettinger Rockets Gotha will play on the road against EnBW Ludwigsburg (#3) and hope to win that game.
