Regular Season Round 4: Asenovets - Haskovo 2012 38-112

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Asenovets. Top-ranked Haskovo 2012 faced 3rd ranked Asenovets. Guests from Haskovo (3-0) smashed host Asenovets (1-2) 112-38. The game without a history. Haskovo 2012 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Asenovets to just 5 points in first quarter and to 13 points in first half. Haskovo 2012 held Asenovets to an opponent 24.1 percent shooting from the field compared to 55.8 percent accuracy of the winners. Haskovo 2012 forced 22 Asenovets turnovers and outrebounded them 55-22 including a 19-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Haskovo 2012 players were unselfish on offense dishing 35 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Asenovets' players. The winners were led by the former international guard Zornitsa Kostova (176-82) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 22 points, 8 rebounds and 15 assists and international Violina Kocheva (175-91) supported her with 33 points (!!!) and 7 assists. Five Haskovo 2012 players scored in double figures. Even 15 points by forward Hristina Geraskova (180-98) did not help to save the game for Asenovets. Point guard Borislava Hristova (161-98) added 2 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Haskovo 2012 have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of East leader, which they share with Beroe. Newly promoted Asenovets keeps the third place with two games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
