Regular Season Round 9: Ereliai Mazeikiai - Suduva-Mantinga 75-77

The most exciting game of round 9 in the NKL took place in Mazeikiai. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 9th ranked Ereliai Mazeikiai (4-5) to second ranked Suduva-Mantinga (7-2) 77-75 on Friday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Rokas Stankevicius (200-95) stepped up and scored 23 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and forward Ignas Labutis (198-94) chipped in 17 points. The best for the losing side was forward Aurimas Urbonas (190-93) with 13 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Ignas Razutis (185-87) scored 9 points and 8 assists. Suduva-Mantinga maintains second place with 7-2 record behind leader Vytis. Ereliai Mazeikiai at the other side dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. They share it with Jonava and Zalgiris II. Suduva-Mantinga are looking forward to face Palanga (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ereliai Mazeikiai will play against Taurages (#5) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
