Regular Season Round 9: Zalgiris II - Vytis 67-87

NKL top team - Vytis (8-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed tenth ranked Zalgiris II (4-5) in Kaunas 87-67. They outrebounded Zalgiris II 38-27 including 28 on the defensive glass. Vytis players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists. Gytis Radzevicius (195-95) nailed 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and center Aurelijus Pukelis (205-94) accounted for 17 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Rokas Jokubaitis (187-0) came up with 12 points and 8 assists and Ignas Sargiunas (193-99) added 14 points respectively for Zalgiris II in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Vytis have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 8-1 record. Zalgiris II at the other side dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. They share it with Jonava and Ereliai Mazeikiai. Vytis will play against Silute (#4) on the road in the next round. Zalgiris II will play against Neptunas-Akv. (#6) in Klaipeda and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
