Regular Season Round 4: NSA - Levski 71-64

Another interesting game was again a derby between two local teams from Sofia: NSA (#6) and Levski (#4). NSA (1-3) won against visiting Levski (1-3) 71-64. Levski trailed by 12 points at halftime and as many as 15 after three quarters before a 16-8 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 64-71 at the end of the game. NSA outrebounded Levski 43-31 including 16 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Maria Svetoslavova (179-93) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international guard Zornitsa Naydenova (170-89) who added 16 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Five NSA players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Viktoria Koycheva (178-0) responded with 15 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Emilia Teneva (182-1) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Levski's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. NSA left bottom position moving up to fourth place in West, which they share with Septemvri 97 and Levski. It was Levski's third loss in a row. NSA will meet at home league's leader Montana 2003 in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Levski's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Sofia Slavia.
