Regular Season Round 8: Giessen 46ers - MBC 107-99

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Giessen 46ers and 12th ranked Mitteldeutscher BC had identical 3-4 record. This time Giessen 46ers used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Weissenfels 107-99 on Saturday night. Giessen 46ers looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists comparing to just 20 passes made by Mitteldeutscher BC's players. The best player for the winners was American swingman Austin Hollins (195-91, college: Minnesota) who scored 24 points and 5 assists. The other American import point guard Dee Davis (183-93, college: Xavier, agency: Inception Sports) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 assists. Forward Till Gloger (204-93, college: Maine) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and Serbian swingman Djordje Drenovac (201-92) added 20 points and 6 assists respectively for the guests. Four Giessen 46ers and five Mitteldeutscher BC players scored in double figures. Mitteldeutscher BC's coach let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Giessen 46ers (4-4) moved-up to tenth place. Newly promoted Mitteldeutscher BC dropped to the eleventh position with five games lost. Giessen 46ers will face higher ranked EWE Baskets (#6) in Oldenburg in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Mitteldeutscher BC will play at home against EnBW Ludwigsburg (#3) and hope to win that game.
