Regular Season Round 8: Jena - Telekom Bsk 73-69

Date: November 4, 2017
An interesting game took place in Jena, where higher ranked Telekom Baskets (4-3) lost to fifteenth ranked Science City Jena (3-5) in a road game 69-73. The winners were led by American forward Derrick Allen (201-80, college: Mississippi) who scored that evening 20 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import guard Skyler Bowlin (191-89, college: Missouri So.) supported him with 6 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Science City Jena's coach Bjoern Harmsen allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 8 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists by naturalized Cuban swingman Yorman-Polas Bartolo (192-85) did not help to save the game for Telekom Baskets. Montenegrin Nemanja Djurisic (203-92, college: Georgia) added 14 points for the guests. Science City Jena moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with 4 other teams. Telekom Baskets at the other side keep the eighth position with three games lost. Science City Jena's next round opponent will be Oettinger Rockets Gotha (#17) on the road where they are favorite.
