Regular Season Round 5: Stevnsgade - Lemvig 75-67

Bottom-ranked Lemvig (0-6) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their sixth consecutive match to fourth ranked Stevnsgade (3-2) 75-67 on Saturday evening. Lemvig was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 21-12 charge of Stevnsgade, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Lemvig's 34. Stevnsgade forced 19 Lemvig turnovers and outrebounded them 43-31 including 20 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Emilie Hesseldal (186-90, college: Colorado St.) who had a triple-double by scoring 12 points, 19 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals. The former international guard Ida Pretzmann (178-90, college: TCU) chipped in 30 points. Stevnsgade's coach used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. American forward Deanna Mayza (170-94, college: Hartford) produced 17 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and the other American import forward Lisa Murphy (185-94, college: Carnegie Mellon) added 15 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the guests. Stevnsgade moved-up to third place. Lemvig lost their sixth game in a row. They still close the standings with six games lost. Stevnsgade will again meet bottom-ranked Lemvig (#6) on the road in the next round. Lemvig will have a break next round.
