Regular Season Round 8: Elchingen - Bayer Giants 90-79

ProB top team - Elchingen (7-1) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat sixth ranked Bayer Giants (4-4) 90-79. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Bayer Giants. Elchingen looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Bayer Giants' players. Worth to mention a quality performance of naturalized Croatian guard Marin Petric (190-80) who helped to win the game recording 26 points, 5 assists and 4 steals and center Kristian Kuhn (208-87, college: N.Arizona) who added 14 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. American forward Bruce Beckford (203-94, college: N.Carolina A&T) responded with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Marvin Heckel (190-97) scored 13 points and 6 assists. Five Elchingen and four Bayer Giants players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Elchingen have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position in South with 7-1 record. Loser Bayer Giants keep the sixth place with four games lost. Elchingen will face Fraport Skyliners II (#6) in Frankfurt in the next round where they are favorite. Bayer Giants will play on the road against Wuerzburg and hope to win that game.
