Regular Season Round 7: Bursaspor - Afyon 72-74

The most exciting game of round 7 in the TBL took place in Bursa. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 6th ranked Bursaspor (4-3) to second ranked Afyon Bld (6-1) 74-72 on Saturday evening. Afyon Bld made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Afyon Bld outrebounded Bursaspor 39-18 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American forward Jamelle Hagins (206-90, college: Delaware) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Hadi Ozdemir (203-83) helped adding 10 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side Croatian guard Karlo Vragovic (192-89, agency: BeoExcell) responded with 19 points and 6 assists (made all of his thirteen free throws !!!) and point guard Erbil Eroglu (194-93) scored 11 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Five Afyon Bld and four Bursaspor players scored in double figures. Bursaspor's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Afyon Bld have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain second place with 6-1 record behind leader Turk Telekom, which they share with Selcuklu. Bursaspor at the other side keeps the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with TED Kolejliler and Karesi Spor. Afyon Bld is looking forward to face league's leader Turk Telekom in Ankara in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bursaspor will play on the road against Bakirkoy (#12) in Istanbul and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
