Speyer / Schifferstadt has finally registered their first victory this season after five consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Krofdorf/Gleib. (2-5) 85-74 on Sunday. The game without a history. Speyer / Schifferstadt led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American guard Jennifer Mocanu (172-90) who led her team to a victory scoring 28 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Annika Netter (172) helped adding 17 points and 11 rebounds. At the losing side American forward Chelsea Small (184, college: Indiana St.) responded with 34 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and the other American import guard Erin Bratcher (176-92, college: Charleston So.) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Speyer / Schifferstadt (1-5) left bottom position moving up to tenth place in South, which they share with Rhein MB. It was Krofdorf/Gleib.'s fifth loss in a row. They keep the eighth position with five games lost. Speyer / Schifferstadt will face higher ranked Wasserburg II (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
