Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Limburg (1-7) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Kaiserslautern (5-3) 95-88 on Sunday. Kaiserslautern forced 19 Limburg turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Aaron Ellis (205-87, college: Wichita St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import point guard Japhet McNeil (183-85, college: Bridgeport) who added 17 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals during the contest. McNeil is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Lithuanian point guard Julius Zurna (188-86) responded with 26 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists and American guard Brandon Shingles (190-87, college: Morehead St.) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points, 15 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Five Kaiserslautern and four Limburg players scored in double figures. Kaiserslautern moved-up to fifth place in South-West, which they share with Koblenz and Saarlouis/Dillingen. Limburg lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with seven games lost. Kaiserslautern will face Lich II (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Limburg will play against the league's leader BV Villingen-Schwenningen and hope to win that game.
